MrBeast's Minecraft Tournament Destroyed Civilization In 24 Hours

When you think of Minecraft tournaments, your mind probably goes to a casual building competition or maybe a server-wide contest with nothing but your honor available for grabs. YouTuber MrBeast recently hosted a Minecraft tournament with a prize pool of $30,000 which enticed 1,000 Minecraft players onto the same server in the sandbox game in groups led by famous Minecraft YouTubers. They they were tasked with creating a flourishing civilizations across the biomes. Priority Game

This led to mass warfare and the destruction the civilisation of the server however, it was all part the plan. After 24 hours of construction on the server, Mr. Beast made everyone fight to see who had the best survival skills. The prize money was given to the winner that defeated the six others.

However, the skills of the participants can only take a person so far as Mr. Beast made sure that no one was left behind. One group was required to make the most out of the Badlands with limited resources and harsh environment and a different group was stranded in middle of the ocean and constructed an enormous fortress to withstand attacks from all directions.

The most resourceful team spent time digging and constructing a strong castle with all the necessary amenities: thick walls, deadly moat, etc.

As ever in Minecraft, the best laid plans failed. The only thing that could deter the hordes of players who were encroaching not just mobs, was the castle walls.

Slimes and other Minecraft enemies threw the brakes on battle strategies and sent hopes and glory crashing down into flaming ruins.

It's a compelling case for a Minecraft battle game, and although there's no sign Mojang has anything planned in this direction, we may be seeing a Minecraft strategy game come out in the near future.

There's plenty to keep us going until then in The Wild update - including hiding in some cases. It's scary out in The Wild.
